Kinder Beat | 2 – 4 year old beginners

  • Age range: beginner students aged 2 to 4 years
  • Course duration: Book One: 6 – 8 months, Book Two: 7 – 9 months
  • Student materials: Book, CD plus soft toy or mascot (Kinder Bear for Level 1 and Kinder Roo for Level 2)
  • Teacher materials: Teacher Guide with Teacher CD (music minus 1 tracks plus supplementary material)

This early childhood program is contemporary and vibrant. It lays the foundation for a positive relationship with music that students will enjoy throughout their lives. The Kinder Beat program utilises groundbreaking early childhood education principles and introduces young children to music in a way that stimulates all their senses. It features many activities that children of the 21st century need for brain development and acceleration. Suitable for students aged from 2 to 4 years, the level of creativity and essential musical foundations can be seen on every page and heard on every sound track.

Kinder Beat currently comprises two levels. Focus activities provide the essential foundation skills that are necessary in order to develop the complete musician. These include:

  • Singing
  • Movement, dance and gesture
  • Rhythm, beat and metre
  • Percussion playing
  • Story-telling and mime
  • Reading (iconic and traditional notation)
  • Keyboard games (3 – 4 yr olds)
  • Musical games and improvisation
  • Ensemble playing

During Kinder Beat lessons, teachers use a variety of musical instruments and props to stimulate the senses and enrich the learning experience. These include: The Music Box, Rainbow Rings, Streamers, Parachutes, Hoops, Balls, Rhythm Sticks, Bells, Tambourines, Drums, Castanets, Triangles, Egg Shakers, Glockenspiel, Chime or Tone Bars, Tuned Hand Bells (optional), Tuned Plastic Pipes (optional), Electronic Keyboard, Digital Piano, Acoustic Piano. Children who successfully complete Kinder Beat advance onto the Encore On Keys Junior Series. To become a Licensed Kinder Beat Teacher, it is necessary to attend specified training workshops and sign the requisite licence agreement.
